What lip trends are you currently loving for Spring?
I know people have mixed opinions on the overlining your lips trend, but I am a total fan. I don’t like the extreme cases but the idea of “lip contouring” can really help accentuate your lips and create an illusion. I did a tutorial for Birchbox on a subtle ways to do this here - you can use the LAQA Fat Lip Pencil in Fairyblood to create a similar look shown in the video!
And beauty trends in general?
New year is all about glowy, luminous skin. The best way to achieve this (besides a TON of water of course) is with a killer highlighter.I can always tell in pictures when I’m not wearing highlighter because my skin won’t look as radiant. Because I have dry skin, I tend to gravitate towards cream highlighters but if you have oily skin, I recommend getting a powder one. I use the Bio Brightener from W3LL PEOPLE daily - all natural but you wouldn’t know it from the performance of the product. SO good!
What is your fav LAQA product and why?
I am a loyal Laqa Fat lip Pencil lover and have been since I first discovered LAQA (proof is in the insta posted this baby 20 months ago..
Being a bold lip addict, the fat lip pencil’s high pigmentation levels add the perfect pop to my lips. Also, the formula is EVERYTHING - it’s moisturizing but not so glossy to where the product feels slippery.
My current favorite shade of the Fat Lip Pencil is Siren Song - it mimics Pantone’s Color of the Year Marsala and just a fun, on trend shade for this year. The 90’s are back baby and I’m fully embracing it!
What is one quick beauty hack (tip) you cannot live without?
Dark spot corrector: If you have dark circles under your eyes, use a bright red/orange lipstick as a base under your eyes before applying concealer. The bright pigmentation of the lipstick evens out your skin tone. I actually use LAQA & Co.’s Fat Lip Pencil in Ring of Fire to do this trick all the time! I recently launched a YouTube channel with a video on how to do this trick at youtube.com/deepicam.
Current obsession: beauty product you can’t get enough of?
Beautyblender: I use it everyday and am obsessed. It’s especially helpful when you’re contouring to blend all of the contour lines together with zero streakage. I won’t go back to using any brush again. Tip: make sure to wet the brush to where it doubles in size before using.
